I am going to be doing a series of videos and hopefully they will get better over time.
This was my very first one so forgive me for all of the twitching and moving. I just wanted to put this up as an introduction and to put a spin on blogging by doing a video, aka “vlogging”. It’s mainly just a short description of my boudoir company and why I shoot boudoir. You’ll notice at the beginning when I say “hello” that I’m looking over to the side. This was caused by a buzzing bug that I heard over to my right and I wanted to make sure it wasn’t flying straight towards my head. Hey, I’m just keeping it real. I don’t like bugs! I’d love to hear feedback on what you think, so feel free to leave comments below, and enjoy!
One of the things I take a lot of pride in is my post processing. I think this is especially helpful and wanted in boudoir photography. While boudoir photography is already very beautiful and sexy, it’s also a time when women feel most vulnerable and well, exposed! After all, they are baring (almost) all and they want to feel and LOOK as sexy as possible.
The fact is, we are all our own worst critic – especially women. Those sunspots on your chest and neck? I can promise that if your man is in love with you, he’s never even realized they exists and if he does? I can promise he couldn’t care less! That extra little wrinkle or dimple in your thigh that you obsess over every morning while getting dressed? It’s really NOT that big of a deal and I can guarantee you that even a woman that weighs 120lbs has at least one dimple in her thigh. I have also had clients that had recently had surgery and asked to have scars removed, which is not a big deal at all. It’s not that we as women aren’t naturally beautiful and don’t already look sexy, but sometimes things show that maybe we don’t want to show off. You’re already investing money to look and feel hot, and it is my job to take that to the next level. To make you look smashing, all while still looking like YOU. I make sure all processing is done in a tasteful manner to not take away from who you really are and what you really look like. Basically, it’s you, only at your absolute best!
Not only do I have 2 of the best local makeup artists around on my team to pamper and makeover every boudoir client, I also give the same treatment to every client’s shoot in post processing. Not every boudoir session I shoot is featured on the blog, as some women prefer to keep theirs more private. Actually, I think it’s safe to say that only 50% ever make it to the blog. I think it’s important to say and be known to every boudoir client that even if your photos never reach this blog, I can promise that your photos are treated just as special. You get the same treatment in post processing that every photo does, rather it’s shown to 100 eyes or just 2.
These are just a few examples of the extra time and care I put into processing my images. An inside look to see that my job isn’t over as soon as I press the shutter on the camera and we leave the shoot. A little reassurance that your final images will still look like you, only better!
These shots were taken in Magen’s bedroom, which at the time was on the side of the house opposite of the sun, so they were naturally a bit darker than I prefer. She had also had open heart surgery about 4 months before her shoot, so the scar was drastically minimized with the help of my MUA, Sarah Belle and with a little help in post processing.

I knew this shot would be a bit more high glamor and mysterious if changed to black and white and was thrilled with the results of doing so. It really doesn’t take much to change the mood of a photo.

Just a simple brightening and cleaning up of this image and it’s much more crisp. I also smoothed the skin a bit to take away some of the natural creases that happen when anyone sits down but you don’t need to be reminded of when you look at a sexy photo of yourself.

This photo was posted with permission from Janelle. She had surgery not long before this shoot, so of course those scars were removed. I wanted to play on the shadows and make the photo a bit more dramatic, so I brightened the photo, cleaned up a few spots on the wall and ran my Photoshop Actions.

We knew we wanted a bit more of a vintage feel with Sara’s shoot, so this was achieved in post processing.

I really wanted Rachel’s makeup and all of the colors to pop in this shot. I simply did a quick skin smoothing and once again ran my Photoshop Actions and the final shows what I really saw when I looked at Rachel in real life.

Meghan first contacted me about doing a boudoir shoot for her fiance. She was super sweet from the get-go and mentioned in passing her recent open heart surgery. She didn’t make a big deal of it, though, and was looking to move forward with her life and be thankful for everything good in it.
Meghan is such a strong woman. She possesses an ability to make you laugh, want to open up and talk for hours and of course, we share a passion for animals. She has a huge heart not only for her friends, fiance, and family – but also her pets. She plays a huge role in the local foster program for dogs and really looks out for those around her, both of human and animal kin. She has a passion for life and making people comfortable and happy and it really shines through in both her emails and in real life.
We met up to have her makeup done and she had her best friend, since the age of 4, along for support from over 4 hours away. They were so funny and got along so well and were such a great support system for each other in so many different ways. Lauren, Meghan’s best friend, was more than happy to assist me during the shoot when I needed it and it was seriously like a girls day slumber party. I had a great time with the both of them and certainly can learn a lot from Meghan. From how to look at the bigger picture and beautiful things in life down to taking time to yourself and savoring every moment.
Meghan, thank you so much for allowing me to take these photos for you and I am thrilled about your and your fiance’s excitement about them. You were a dream client and really rocked this shoot out. I wish you nothing but the best in the coming months and years and feel like I’ve made a new friend just from the short time I’ve known you. Lauren, you were simply amazing as well and thank you so much for the helping hand and for making us both laugh and relax during the day.
You ladies are AWESOME!
**Remember, you are more than welcome to bring a girl friend along to your shoots for support or to help you relax. I leave this completely up to you, but it really does make a huge different to have someone there to laugh and share a mimosa with to help break out of your shell if you’re a bit nervous.
MUCH thanks to Sarah Belle for the amazing makeup, which is always included in every boudoir session!

STACEY!! I am in love with all of these!!! While I think you have done an amazing job with all of you boudoir shoots, this one is my favorite. AWESOME job!!
I had met and even spoke to Rachel a few times before our boudoir shoot. She is a great local belly dancer and I have quite a few friends in the local troupe so when she contacted me for boudoir photos, I was really excited. I hadn’t spoken with her enough to see her true personality, but when she showed up for makeup, I could tell we would get along perfectly. She showed up with curlers in her hair and when my MUA and I yelled down from the top story of the studio “Do you have curlers in your hair?!” her response was “Girl, it’s how I do!” She was 100% herself right from the start and I loved it.
Although born in England and living in North Carolina, Rachel is in love with Texas. Texas charm shines through in her personality and her accent and you can’t help but feel like having a good time and laughing with her. Hilarious, adventurous, forthcoming and of course beautiful – I couldn’t have asked for more. Here are a few of my favorite shots from Rachel’s session and as always, shared with her permission.
