You may be familiar with the term K.I.S.S. It stands for “Keep it simple, stupid”. I don’t like calling anyone stupid (especially myself), so we’re going to change that to something a little better.
Keep it simple, Stacey.
Keep it simple, Silly.
Keep it simple, Sweetie.
Keep it simple, Sexy.
Keep it simple, Simply Boudoir.
Ok, so I’m obviously making this a little harder (and therefore, less simple) than it should be. You get the idea, though. I have searched high and low for the black and white look that I really love on my portraits. There are so many Photoshop actions out there and while I have a few different ones that I really dig (one a little grittier than the other, one that looks like film, one that is a little more film noir), I’ve really come to love just a simple desaturation of color. All this time that I’ve been searching for a black and white that I really love and all this time it has been the most simple solution that I have come to love most. I love the dramatic feel that a photo can take on when turned from color to black and white. Almost like there’s more to the story, more to see, more to read between the lines. There seem to be less distractions and the photo just seems more, well, simple.
Today, I am loving to K.I.S.S. After all, how beautiful does this simple portrait look?
