A friend linked me to this post yesterday and I loved this quote from it.
“Never apologize for your own sense of beauty. Nobody can tell you what you should love. Do what you do brazenly and unapologetically. You cannot build your sense of aesthetics on a consensus.”
It really hit home with me since I am shifting gears in the way I want to present my boudoir images. I am pouring even more of myself into my shoots (I know – how is that even possible?!) and loving the outcome. Others may fear that this will lose the sexiness or femininity of what boudoir shoots are all about, but for me, I believe the total opposite will happen.
This is a shot from my past weekend’s session with a past client. This was her second session (and yes, both were paid – she is amazing) and it was completely different than her first. We came up with a few ideas, brought along more accessories and props and made it HER shoot. She is loving the outcome which is what I strive for beyond all else. This is my sense of beauty, her sense of beauty, and together we can create a sensual image for which we will not apologize.
